UMI Arts Hour on Bumma Bippera Radio 98.7FMJoin the UMI Arts Development Officers every Friday from 12 noon to 1pm for UMI Arts Hour on BBM98.7FM Cairns. The team interview guests from around the region, showcase new and established musicians and provide information about the latest events and opportunities for Indigenous artists and cultural practicioners of Far North Queensland. The first UMI Arts Hour took place in September 2008, and has continued on a weekly basis. The show is a great way to connect with the local community, to promote UMI Arts activities and events, and to provide opportunities for artists and musicians to come along and have a yarn about their work. Past guests have included artists participating in the UMI Arts “Exhibition Ready” program and the UMI Arts Indigenous Markets, as well as international guests and coordinators of events around the region. Music by some of our music-based members has also been featured. UMI Arts would like to thank BBM for this opportunity to showcase the arts and culture of Far North Queensland.
